When learned, practiced, and cultivated together, in a loving and supportive environment where we don’t have to take ourselves so seriously, I find that clients are more empowered to utilize these practices outside of session.

Whether you are considering traditional psychotherapy, Reiki energy healing, or combining the two services, I love to integrate mindfulness and meditation practices into both approaches. The benefits are truly tremendous! Mindfulness & Meditation can always also be provided as a stand-alone service! With consistency and grace, this practice fosters neuroplasticity in the brain, which ultimately increases our likelihood of utilizing these skills when we are triggered by stress or anxiety. Win-win!


The research and benefits:

Research shows that mindfulness and meditation can help to reduce stress, control anxiety, and promote emotional health. These practices enhance self-awareness, can generate kindness and compassion toward yourself and others, and have even been shown to support addiction recovery. Health benefits include improved sleep, reduced memory loss, decreased blood pressure, as well as pain management.

But what is it really?

Put simply, mindfulness is the practice of intentionally maintaining a present-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations, through a gentle, nurturing, and accepting lens.

Meditation, however, is like the soul-mate of mindfulness. Meditation is the practice of cultivating inner peace by focusing our awareness on our inner lives, by going inside ourselves. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, and the two have much overlap.

Experiencing resistance?

There are thousands of definitions and approaches to practicing mindfulness, as well as to incorporating meditation into your daily life. Sometimes this can feel overwhelming to getting started, but there truly is no wrong way!

Before I cultivated my practice, I can remember thinking I would never be able to quiet my mind long enough to meditate. I felt like I was surely “doing it wrong.” It seemed like mindfulness and meditation were out of reach… for individuals somehow different and more advanced than me. Once I got out of my own way so to speak, I was able to experience the benefits in a truly beautiful and sustainable way!

In-person services are available in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Teletherapy services are available for both North and South Carolina residents.
